In many documents, photosyntheis is written as

    6CO2 + 6H2O = C6H12O6 +6O2

In some documents, thouhg raely, photosystheisis is written as, mentioning this is more relasitic,

    6CO2 + 12H2O = C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O.

Why, if the second equation is more realistic, the first equation is used more commonly?
    I am really curious.
