The Prasanna Mohanty Award for Young Scientists

Prasanna Mohanty (1934-2013) was an Indian professor of photosynthesis based for much of his career at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Throughout his career in photosynthesis research from a graduate student in the USA to his many research activities during his retirement he was noted for his care and respect for students among his many other outstanding qualities as a scientist. Applicants for the Mohanty Award Fund for Young Scientists are encouraged to read the tribute by Tiwari et al. (2014) Photosynthesis Research 122: 235–260.
